On startup, I get an error box that say's "c:\windows\explorer.exe. I just
removed a bunch of spyware and a couple of viruses.

There is no discription of a problem. It is a small grey box with a red X.
Error is in the title bar. The message in the box is
"C:\windows\explorer.exe. Mike.

After I last wrote, I had Norton go nuts with mass e-mail notifications. I
ran Adaware and Spysweeper. That removed a load of spyware. I thought I
should take each step, at that point, one at a time. I downloaded and ran
Spybot. That seems to have taken care of the e-mail and
C:\windows\explorer.exe error issue. Thank you so much for your help. Does
this kind of situation seem like it is getting out of hand or is it just me?

You are most welcome, Mike. Glad you have it sorted. As for the combo,
they work great. In my opinion nothing else is needed. As for your last
question, as we can't control it, is best that we all try to combat it.
