explorer.exe memory usage 200+ MB

Hello,

I am using Windows XP with SP1, 512MB of ram on a athlon 1800.
After a period of time, a day, a couple hours, explorer.exe
continually take up more ram and CPU resources. It get to the point
where it is taking up 270MB of memory and CPU usage is contantly
between 60-100%

Wandering if anyone has come across this and if they have a fix

How many browser helper objects are installed in IE?

Lots of different programs (many of them free) will show you the BHO's
installed on your system. The on I use is WinPatrol -
