My Explorer.exe has the tendency to start using 99% of my CPU usage. This almost always happens when I browse in to a folder containing videos or movies. It happens more often when I am in detailed view but it sometimes happens for not particular reason when I am not using my computer. I can kill it with Task managers but not when I am copying files.

I am using Windows XP Pro SP 1 V2002 and have all the latest updates installed, and McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 7 with the latest DAT file. There is no hardware conflict in my system view. Most of my drivers are certified by Microsoft except my NVIDIA and Creative drivers.

Is this a common problem with XP? Reinstalling windows did not fix the problem. And the warranty of on the machine has expired. What can I do
