Explorer - drive C always open

OK - I've created a new shortcut with the suggested text and it works fine
from the shortcut, however when I right click on the start menu and choose
the "Explorer" option it still brings up the fully expanded C drive. I've
tried modifying the shortcut and target under properties for "Explorer" but
to no avail. Any ideas on what needs to be modified to get that shortcut to
work, rather than having to go to the created shortcut?

God you are so stupid. Why would the command to EXPLORE THE ****IN START MENU do something different.

This is meant more for profiles management. Not recommended as other things
may break but you can edit the default (no name) Reg_Sz values;

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\explore\ddeexec
[ExploreFolder("%l", %I, %S)]
to
[ExploreFolder("C:\", C:\, %S)]

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\open\ddeexec
[ViewFolder("%l", %I, %S)]
to
[ViewFolder("C:\", C:\, %S)]

however when I right click on the start menu and choose
the "Explorer" option

It's Explore, not Explorer.

Start button right click menu.

The Start button right click menu contains:
Open
Explore
Search
Properties
Open All Users
Explore All Users
And others depending on what software you have installed.

When right clicking the Start button and selecting Explore, you are not
opening Windows Explorer per se. You are opening a Start Menu folder.

You have four choices of how to open two folders; Open, Explore, Open
All Users and Explore All Users. These are just shortcuts to the two
folders.

Depending on a bunch of settings, but generally...
Explore opens folders with Folders pane on the left.
Open opens folders with common tasks showing on the left.

Right click Start button | Open defaults to %userprofile%\Start Menu with
the
Common Tasks pane showing.

Right click Start button | Explore defaults to %userprofile%\Start Menu with
the Folders pane displayed.

Right click Start button | Open All Users defaults to
%allusersprofile%\Start Menu with the Common Tasks pane showing.

Right click Start button | Explore All Users defaults to
%allusersprofile%\Start Menu with the Folders pane displayed.

The %userprofile%\Start Menu folder is the Start Menu folder for whoever
happens to be logged on, i.e. the Current User.

The whole context menu is for the Start Menu and nothing else.

How any folder opens depends on how different options are set on your
machine. Basically Open will open a folder with Common Tasks displayed and
Explore will open a folder with the Folder Pane displayed.

The guy is a known idiot. Your answer is just stupid. The previous answer he was given is wrong.

But as he is a known idiot (he want the Command EXPLORE THE F&CKIN START MENU to explore C) I won't help. Once I did help people with this question till I realised they were all idiots.

Well I'll just consider the source on this one I guess. <geeeezzz>

This is not his first post. He's been told over and over again. If you tell windows to open a folder it will open that folder not a different one.

So why are you slamming me David?

For suggesting all his folders open C. R/C - Explore folders in the Tree pane.

At least I used to add a new menu entry not trash an existing.

You must be reading something else. I made no such implication.

Why are you being so cryptic? Did you bother to read "Not recommended as
other things may break"
