Explorer does not work

I am trying to get windows explorer to work. I have run virus scan and
spybot and was unable to solve the problem. I also tried to run sfc
/scannow and that did not fix anything either. I still am unable to run
windows explorer and internet explorer. Any help would be appreciated.

Get a copy of HiJackThis.
Search what it finds on the web.
Delete the bad items if any.
