Explorer 7 eating memory

I like the idea of tabs in the new version of explorer but if I open more
than 2 tabs and leave
the windows open then I run into severe memory usage.
Initially, memory usage is not excessive, seems normal.
Is there a way to fall back to ie 6?
Will system restore take care of this problem?

Thank you for any ideas that you may be able to share

IE7 does not use any more memory than IE6.
Perhaps you need a performance tune-up.

I agree it doesn't use more memory in my experience so far, and I haven't
had any problems. But considering the average PC user seems to be (in
droves) having big time issues with IE7, I think MS may have screwed the
pooch (yet again) pushing out a program way too soon for general use.

A single instance of IE-7 will use around 19 Megabytes of RAM.
Not much different than IE-6 used. Remember for IE-7 if you have
a problem use the IE-7 No Add-ons shortcut. Sometimes it's the
add-ons and 3rd-Party hooks that cause the problems.

Thanks for your helpful replies,
Diskeeper 10 is my choice for automatic defrags and I regularly run disk
cleanup.
Msconfig helps me stay on top of what starts up in the background.
System file checker is running to see if all of the system files are
what/where they are suppose to be.
A clean explorer is a good explorer, I delete many default items that are
included with it normally but have not customized ie7 yet.
I am leaning toward thinking that the task manager is not reporting
correctly
Everything seems to work properly w/no slowdowns and have not seen the low
memory baloon yet.

Thanks again

As I stated before, I have no issues with IE7, even with the add-ons on.
Couldn't see using it if I couldn't properly open a PDF file online, or see
a flash or shockwave player in action if it were needed, as well as others.
If having to turn them off to make IE work is the means for those who are
not too savvy with IE, then MS should recall it back to pre-beta stage and
work on it much more than they did.

I don't use IE for preferential reasons, if only to see certain videos and
to get updates from MS.
