Explore stops working

For some reason during the day Explore will all of a sudden stop working.
When I click on a different folder it could take over a minute to show it.
If I restart it will work OK. Windows XP pro - usually running two
investment progrms (TCNet and ETrade), YahooIM and Outlook. This is a new
problem, of course, both progrmas have been upgraded.

How is this an Outlook question?
