Explore.exe crashes every time I open one specific
folder. This folder is named downloads and contains media
files (Audio and Video) that I have downloaded, all other
folders work fine even other ones that contain the same
types of files. I've scaned the folder for virues and
also scanned the PC with Adaware to make sure it wasn't a
spyware issue, also restarted the PC about 10 times, 2-3
seconds after I open the folder the windows error
reporting dialog comes up (the one with send error report
and don't send buttons). The first time it happended I
was running 4 programs that were taking up alot of memory
but still happens when nothing is running,

System Specs
WIN XP Pro
AMD 2800
1 Gig Ram
80 Gig HD (5 free)
Norton AV

Any help would be appreciated

Are there any error reports in Event Viewer?

Make an exact note of the precise text of any error message. Minor
discrepancies can make it harder to search for information about the
error message.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&Product=winxp

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you
should double click
for further information and you can copy using copy and paste.
http://go.microsoft.com/fw.link/events.asp
(Please note the hyperlink above is for illustration purposes only)

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

I did fix the issue by right clicking on the folder and
then searching in it. This allowed me to move files to
and from the folder without opening it, I moved some
unfinished bit torrants from the folder and then the
folder was fine so I got rid of these files and no
problems since, thanks for the idea to look in the event
viewer but the error wasn't very descriptive. Anyways the
issue is resolved and thanks again for taking the time to
help with this. The error is below if you still want to
look at it.

Thank you for letting us know for what happened.

The error report is interesting as that self same Error Report was posted
last week by another user. Do you have Microsoft Word and or Adobe Acrobat
Reader installed on your computer?
