Hi.

I have a pc with xp service pack 2, in a windows 2003 domain, with updated
antivirus.

The problem is that the cpu is always very busy, over 80%. Explore.exe and
mobsync use 40% of cpu each one.

I am scanning the disk looking for virus, but while it is being scanned,
does anyone know something about this?

The explore.exe is a member of the Gaobot worm family. Mobsync.exe is a
legitimate Windows file but I've seen a file named almost the same that
is malware. Your computer definitely is infested. Since I don't know
what you are using to scan and how you are doing it, here are
suggestions to clean up your computer.

Do all the malware removal work at the link below, including scanning
with either Sysclean or Multi-AV:

I have this exact same problem. mobsync.exe and explorer.exe are using all
the CPU time. mobsync.exe appears to be the synchronization app for
synchronizing network stored files that are to be available offline. It
typically runs at logon and logoff to perform synchronizations. But on this
one pc at my office it seems to be hung in a loop. You can kill it via the
taskmanager but explorer.exe seems to be waiting in a loop or something on
mobsync.exe to finish, I don't really know for sure, but explorer.exe
continues to eat up the CPU time. Obviously killing explorer doesn't help
because you can't use the computer without explorer.exe.

Logging in as local or network admin didn't help anything either. Exactly
the same problem still. No other pc on the network has shown these symptoms.
I have no idea how the problem could have originated, the regular user of the
pc does not have any admin rights.

The only software I know of installed on this machine that isn't installed
