I have a computer running XP Home SP1. I also own a Visioneer flatbed
scanner (model 5800) that produces occasional error messages. The software
that powers the scanner is PaperPort 7.0.

These error messages usually happen when I repeatedly enlarge an
imported picture. Below is the text of the error message, obtained from Dr.
Watson. Can anyone translate this into simple English and explain what can
be done, if anything, to fix it?

A quick search of that exception points to low virtual memory - quick fix: increase virtual memory size.
to do this:
Right-click on 'My Computer' and choose properties.
Choose the 'Performance' tab then select 'Virtual Memory'
GL.

Are you sure those instructions work with XP? I can't find a
'performance' tab.

I found the virtual memory area, but the instructions to get there are
somewhat different with XP.

Hey H-F, Sorry about that....I copied and pasted the instructions - didn't
give them a second glance, to be honest. Hope that the fix worked - if not,
let me know
