expanding folders

I am sure I am overlooking something in Outlook 2003. OE has a setting where
it would expand the folders for other mail accounts (such as hotmail) when a
unread item is in them. example is a new message comes in and it expands the
hotmail folders.
Can outlook 2003 be configured like this? I did not see a setting and a
google brought up a lot of items not really answering my question.
thanks all!

I use a pop and hotmail. nothing fancy. the hotmail folders get populated
automatically when I send/receive but do not expand with new mail. I don't
do a manual move (if that is what you were saying) so I don't know of a way
to set up a rule to expand the hotmail.
did that make sense?
thanks

no, outlook doesn't have a setting to do that - however, the folders should
expand when you use rules to move messages to them.

what type of mail account do you have?
