when i use I.E. to search sites, they all open small and i have to expand
them. this just started happening.did i change something that i don't know
about? greatful for any help.

Windows remembers the size of the last Normal IE window closed.
Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.

Well, I'm afraid that even when I drag the corners to expand the window and
select 'Close' (as opposed to 'x'ing out of it), I STILL have to do it every
time. Windows USED to remember the window size but in the last 2 weeks
something has happened and every window, with the exception of those I open
using the Quick Launch bar, opens in a normal window and I have to maximize
it.

I right click on the desktop icon and select 'Properties' - there is no
option to open 'Maximized, Normal or any other size'. Those options are only
available to me when I right-click on icons in the Quick Launch Toolbar.

Is there no registry entry/edit I can use to maximize the windows when they
open?

Create a shortcut to IE and maximize its window. This won't help with
links from OE or other IE windows though..
