Exiting Windows messenger

When I try to exit windows messenger, I get a message
saying: "There are other applications currently using
features provided by windows messenger. You must close
these other applications before exiting windows
messenger" But I am not running any other programs! How
can I exit windows messenger?
 
This sounds like you have Norton Antivirus 2003. If that
is the case go into the Options menu of Notron and
uncheck the box for MSN Messenger

press ctrl + alt + del to open 'windows task manager' go
to 'processes' tab and look for a process called 'msmsgs'
or 'msnmsgr' select it and click on 'end process' button
