I built a domain in my home using the trial version of
Server 2003. I have the user profiles set up but some of
the programs I installed under the administrator(local
computer) profile won't run when the user(domain) profile
is logged on. Some do but some don't. What am I doing
wrong? When I try to run the programs that won't work it
brings up the install window for that program like it
isn't even installed yet, but it is. Please help me out
if you can. Email me with any ideas, I have tried only a
few things that I could think of but I don't know enough
about Server 2003 to get this to work. I know there has
to be a way. Thanks.

You might be doing nothing wrong.
Some programs go through a mini-install for each
user the first time they are run. We usually install
such applications not from CD but from an online
network share so that the mini-install has ready
access to the install source.
Other programs are just plain pains, not even working
for users after an admin has installed them on a stand-alone
XP/W2k3 not in a domain. For these you must resolve the
shortcomings of the software on a case by case basis -
usually starting by granting Users change on that applications
installation directory.
