Guys,

I'm new to Exchange and Outlook. Long story short the business I work
for uses a third party pop3 e-mail tool for all users. For a select
few I would like to set up Outlook to hit the exchange server using the
corporate type setup.

I've tried everything I know to connect to my mail server and Outlook
cannot see it. We use Novell to authenticate for File and Print. What
must be in place for Outlook and Exchange to talk to each other? Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

What kind of POP3 "tool"? Your company does have an Exchange server in addition to POP3 accounts? Or are users accessing the Exchange server with POP?

We use Eudora, it was like that before I arrived. We are using the
Exhange server to serve as POP3 but I would like to setup corporate
exchange instead of POP3 in our central office. All users currently
are accessing exchange through POP. I'm not sure if it's a domain
issue or what. Thanks for your interest.

Just wanted to bump this. When I put my exchange server in the outlook
setup it goes out and looks for the server but never connects to it
when trying to find my name/account. I've checked DNS and it is
resolving. Anybody got any ideas?

are you inside the network or outside? if trying to access it from the
network, do you have port 135 blocked? (You should, for security reasons,
but it will not allow access via native exchange connection)

I'm inside the network. Port 135 appears to be blocked by the PIX. Is
it OK to unblock this? You say I should have it blocked but how can I
if I need to use it for exchange. Thanks for taking a look.
