excel - sending an object backward does not work

I have created a frame with autoshapes (with fill color), I need to write
within that frame but I am not able to select any cell behind the object.
Tried to send it backward but it does not work. Any suggestion please?

Hi Mike,
Thank you for the response. Sorry but I can’t proceed that way. My frame is
to be embedded in an invoice form. Cells behind the object are required to
show invoice details.
Any suggestion? Thank you.
