I am having trouble, kinda hard to explain but hopefully it will com
out right.
I have one spreadsheet with a list of servers other informatio
including their model number.
I have another spreadsheet where i drew a diagram of each server rac
with the server name.
I want to put a forumla into the second worksheet that will get th
server name (will be the cell to the left), then find that server nam
in my first worksheet, then will give me the model number and displa
that in the second worksheet.
Does that make sense?
Is this possible?
This is what I have tried.
=IF('[SUN HW Maintenance.xls]Total to be Covered'!A:A=B:B,"yes","no")
I have yes and no in there just to check to see if the compare i
working right or not. That seams to be my problem.
When i evaulate this, say i am on d29 it will take the name from b29
this is what i want it to do) then it compares to the first spreadshee
(SUN HW Maintenance.xls) here is compares to the same row 29, i want i
to search the entire A column and find the one that matchs.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
