Excel produces wrong answer when trying to work out a percentage?

using the formula "=D6*G6/100" to find a percentage gives a different answer
to typing in the numbers rather than using references. the sum should be
=28000*18/100 which gives the correct answer of 5040 which is 18% of 28000,
however the figure excel delivers is 4911? please help.
 
The numbers in D6 and G6 are not exacty 28000 and 18. Format to show more
decimal places, or else use the formulas
=D6&""
and
=G6&""
to force a display of the full cell contents.
