A few days ago my Excel 2002 started acting up. I can no
longer use any shortcuts. If I try to access any files
from shortcuts the screen shows blank with "ready" in the
lower left hand corner. If I then go to File/open and
look for the file and click, it will open. However, if I
am trying to open a file on one of my networked stations,
this is considerably more difficult. If I click on the
shortcut I get a message that says the file is no longer
available. The only way to open the files from my station
is to do a lengthy search starting from the drive letter
of the computer the file is saved on and work my way
through the labyrinth of folders. Excel is the only
program acting this way. I tried reinstalling Excel, but
nothing changed. Word & Works are working fine.

Any suggestions?

Have you, intentionally or otherwise, changed any transition aids
(Tools | Options... | Transition tab)?

Or, have you run/installed any macros/add-ins that might mess around
with your configuration? If this is some code you/someone else
wrote/installed, it might survive a reinstallation.
