Excel opens files at startup

I have a problem when I start excel it is automatically opening files
The files it is opening are normally found in run>sysedit, autoexec
config.sys, netlog etc. as well as a couple of files that I have no
used for months.

I have used excel a few times today and then this started happening s
it was not when I first started. I have tried restarting but that doe
not solve the problem.

So can someone possibly tell why this is happening and how do I sto
this from happening.

Hi David!

It looks like the startup folder are set to C:\
Select Options from the Toolsmenu and then on the General tab what path is
used for: "At startup, open all files in:"?
Remove the path in this field (or change the path to the folder where you
have files you need to open when you start Excel) and close the Options
dialog and then Excel.
Start Excel again.

Does the problem still occur?
