Excel no longer tabs multiple spreadsheets in Windows taskbar

I can open multiple spreadsheets in Excel, but they no longer show up as tabs
on the Windows taskbar: only the active spreadsheet shows. I am using Office
XP with all the latest updates, service packs, etc...
 
Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the View tab. There,
check the "Windows in Taskbar" setting.
