This problem occurs on about 50% of the machines at
work... when clicking on an Excel spreadsheet from the
Intranet, the sheet appears as a web-page, but you have
no access to to the Excel Menus (the Menus appear, such
as "Tools" or "Data" but there is no drop down options).
So you can not filter or sort the data. The other half of
the machines can "see" the menus properly and manipulate
the data. Machines are using WIN98SE, WinXP and various
versions of office from 97 to 2003; but I see no
correlation between operating system version and office
version (it works or doesn't work on pretty much every
combination). I know you can change Explorer to open the
native program (in this case Excel); but that is a slower
option. And I'd like to know why it works on some and not
on others. Any thoughts? TIA
