How do you creat diagonal headings in Excel. How do you
make the column headings slant diagonally?

Select the cells with headings in them. Go to Format > Cells > Alignment
and under "Orientation" select the degrees you want it slanted.
 
if you want it to look like

\ \
\ \
\ \
| |
| |

then select the cell and apply borders in addition to applying the
orientation setting. for a left slant, orient \ for a right slant orient
/
