Excel formula help Quering 2 cells

Hi I have an excel spreadsheet problem.
I am an Excel novice using the the latest version.
I have Two columns A1-A15 and B1-B15
A columns contains number data IE: "123" or numerical data "TL" eithe
capitals or lower case.
Column B contains numerical data "A" or "AT" or "B" or "BT" etc all th
way to "PT"

The cell A1 if it contains "TL" has a relationship to B1 "AT" there i
no relationship on the number data

If i have data
A1 "TL" B1 "CT"
A2 "TL" B2 "C"
A3 "TL" B3 "B"
A4 "TL" B1 "AT"
A5 "TL" B2 "C"
A6 "TL" B3 "B"
etc

I the above sample I need result cells that show I have 3 "C" or "CT"
TL results
2 "B" results
And 1 "A" result

(the "C" or "CT" etc cell are counted together)

Once I have those results they exsit on a workbook that has 31 days o
data. This data relates to a master sheet which totals up the results
I currantly use ='1'!N33, ='2'!N33 etc to extract the data from on
sheet to another
