I have just noticed that my timesheet files keep doubling every week. I have
a very simple timesheet that I fill out every week, and just noticed that
the size of the files started doubling. The original was 110kb, which it
stayed for about a year, then last month it started doubling. My files are
now 2000kb. There are no complicated functions or anything in it. I have
Window NT 4.0 with Excel 97 SR2.

You're not saving the file as one of those combo xl95/xl97&xl2k files are you?
(I bet not.)

I think that the one thing that's easy to fix that makes the filesize smaller is
resetting the lastused cell on each worksheet.

Debra Dalgleish has some notes and pictures at:

If hitting ctrl-End takes you way past what you think should be the last cell,
you'll want to check it out.

I am now noticing the same thing. It occurs when I save the original
file as a different name. How can I save it under a different name
without the doubling? I make new revisions to this file each month and
want to save old copies.
