Hello,

I pasted some data into a sheet and the borders disappeared. Is there a way
to get the borders back so that it looks the same way as a new sheet (gray
lines). I tried going into format cell, but I could not get the same color.
The gray that I selected was still darker than the original grey.

Thanks in advance, sck10

Perhaps you're refering to the gridlines ..

Try this on a spare copy to restore:
Press CTRL+A to select entire sheet
Click Format > Cells > Patterns tab > No color > OK

Above will remove all fill colors,
including the (un)wanted format brought over
when you pasted the data

You could have avoided pasting the format together with the data via using
Edit > paste special > values > OK

Note: To switch on / off (& change the color) of gridlines

Click Tools > Options > View tab
Under Window options:
Check / uncheck Gridlines
(Set the gridline color using the droplist, if desired)
