excel attached file not received

I am sendinding excel files, recipients are not recieving the file. In the
sent fold it shows that it has been sent and I can open the attached file
from the sent folder.

Software or Virus ?????

When you say "recipients are not recieving the file" could you be a bit more
explicit?
Are you sending, perhaps, to non-Outlook users, and are using the default
Outlook setting of Rich Text Format?
 
Recipients are using Outlook. I have been sending excel files by using the
mail command "send as an attachment within Excel. Email is sent, it shows
that there is an attachement. The recipient of the email does not get file.
Strangely enough, in my sent box, I see the email and can open the attatched
file with no problem.

Are you sending the message in Rich Text format? Only another Outook user
can receive Rich Text attachments.

Apparently the OP is sending to Outlook users - I asked that one!
