Whilst in Access and assuming you have a file created to bring it into:-

File / Get External data / Import / Change 'Files of type' to Excel using
the dropdown and then hit Import.

Import Spreadsheet Wizard
An error occurred trying to import the file 'c:\bla bla\CAF-Dec.xls The
file was not imported.

Thats all it gives me

Are you trying to import into an existing table or as a new sheet?

Is it just this file that won't work, or can you import other files/sheets?

OK, remove the NOSPAM bit from my email addy - tell me which sheet you are
trying to import, and also what version Access you are using?

Tryed to e-mail you but it didnt work. Told me wrong addy after i
removed the nospam

Its access 2003
and excel 2003

Try ing to import the CAF sheet in to the DATA table

I always go about this a totally different way.

In Access go to File>Get external data>Link tables...

In the dialog, select 'files of type' as Excel and navigate to your Excel
file, select the sheet, range, etc to link and then it will sit as a pseudo
table and can be used throughout Access's UI.

I prefer this method, tend to do a swift 'Make Table Query' make an access
table from the Excel and Voila!. You can of course also set up an update,
append or any other type of action query.

It takes one key press to delete the link too ;-)
