In earlier versions of Excel, even if they weren't explicitly named I
could use column or row headings to create a formula. For example, if
Mon, Tue, Wed appeared in B1:D1 and various expenses appeared in A2:A5
(ex: wages, mortgage, etc.) I could type Mon Wages in a cell and Excel
would return the value at the intersection of the 2. That's not
working in 2007. I have turned Use label names in formulas from Excel
options on. Not sure why this isn't working. Any suggestions
appreciated. Thanks,

Tanya

Hi Tanya

this is one of the features that ahs been deprecated in XL2007.
You can click on a cell within your table and choose Insert tab>Table.
There are features within a Table (somewhat more verbose) that will
allow you to achieve the same sort of functionality.
