Does the new version of excel contain more than 65,536
lines withing a workbook?
If not, is there a way to create additional lines, over
and above the 65,536? Excel is used in a very specific
program that we have, and adding workbooks is NOT an
option. We do multiple searches (of columns) and need
text in one workbook.

If you have an answer, please e-mail me directly at the
above address. Thanks for your assistance.

Also 65,536 Leigh in 2003

But you can search in more sheets also
Is this not a option?

Leigh,

Microsoft will never be able to expand, it is not cost-
effecient in the trade-off. When Microsoft orginally stole
this spreadsheet program from Lotus, they didn't know how
to write the proper code techs, and since, the orginal
writers have passed on. So unfortunatly, we are stuck with
65,536 lines forever.

Hope this helps, you may want to try Quatro Pro buy Coral.

Thanks Ron for responding...
We can search in additional worksheets, but that is what
we are trying to avoid, if at all possible. It would mean
repetative searching in each sheet which will slow down
our processing time. Someone else suggested Quatro Pro
which is not something I have looked into yet to see if it
will be a feasible alternative. Thanks again for your
assistance. Leigh

Sounds like it is actually time to deposit the information into a database like
Access
