Excel 2003 versus 2002 seem incompatible related to the EDATE fun.

I have a 2003 version of Excel. Others in the office have a 2002 version.
There is a date function used in the 2002 worksheets "EDATE" that is not
recognized by my 2003 version and it has made the worksheet useless unless I
work off an old version of EXCEL. That doesn't seem right???

One fix that I have attempted in to convert EDATE function to DATEVALUE
function, but then rather than triggering off of months, I am having to build
future dates off of the number of days between dates. That doesn't seem
right either???
