I can not open Options within Tools in Excel 2003, when i try to select it,
nothing happens.

Can i anyone help?

I believe this means that some Excel setting in the registry has become
corrupted. Here's what I'd do:

-Close Excel if it's open.
-From Start->Run enter "regedit" and press Enter.
-In the Registry Editor navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\Options
-Press F2 and change the name of "Options" to something else like "OptionsX"
-Close the Registry Editor and run Excel.

Of course you'll lose all your custom settings but Excel will give you a
default set.

Hi Jim,

I got to the following location but there wasn't an 'options' option to
change?

Should there be?

Regards,

Riley

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\

Sorry Jim but whats JPG?

I never hear of there not being. I wonder if it's a "rights" issue? See
JPG of what I see.

I had attached a small screen shot (picture) of what I see in the reg
editor.

It's still there as I can see it (using Outlook Express). But it's not
crucial that you see what I see in the reg editor. If you got to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\ and hit the "+" to
open it and didn't see Options as one of the 10 or so nodes under it then
I'm flummoxed.
