Excel 2000 Spell Check

When I click the spell check button on my machine, I get a
message saying "spell check complete" but the errors are
not picked up. Any idea why and how I can fix it?

US English vs UK English maybe one of the problems?

It's also possible someone has fubarred your custom dictionary.

What are the words? If you have Word, what happens when you spell check
these words in Word?
 
I checked - the custom dictionary does exist and contains
seemingly only words that the user has added. If I run the
Word spell check it all works ok.

The machine has both English and Arabic installed. Could
this have an effect? And again, if so - how do I fix it?

PS - I contacted a few vendors in the area who all claim
that it is not possible to run a spell check on Excel
2000 :-) I think it's pure laziness, since it runs GREAT
on some of the other machines.
