Kim Forbes

Hello,

I'm writing an article about Excel 2000 for our internal newsletter.
I was wondering if there are any Excel 2000 bugs or deficiencies that
you bump up again time and time again, and how you solved them. Also,
any tips, tricks, and shortcuts that are really helpful.

Thanks Kim

For starters have a look at John Walkenbach's Excel Oddities.

While there have a look at his User Tips and Developer Tips.

As far as tips, tricks and shortcuts........follow these Excel News Groups for
a few days(or months, years?) to get a handle on what can be done.

I don't know if this is what you're after, but at our workplace the
non-"Expert" user's always get themselves in trouble with leaving blank rows
within their spreadsheets.
Accordingly, when they sort or do an AutoSum they don't get the results they
expected, or worse, they think the the result is correct!
For us, it's the most common, and potentially serious, error.
The only "workaround" is to ensure that the user's are aware of the basics
in Excel.

Thanks. This is an excellent tip. Most of our users are novices, so
I'm sure they have done this.

Thanks again.
