It looks like we will be switching our product from using a hard disk with
disk-based EWF to one using a flash disk and RAM-based EWF. Naturally, I
have not payed much attention to the many RAM-EWF issues over the time that
I've been monitoring this group, but searching the archives almost confuses
me more than I expected. I think I'll just have to play around with it to
see what works and doesn't compared to our disk-based solution.
Anyway, the important question right now is in sizeing the EWF RAM area so
that it will not fill up. With a fairly full-features XPE configuration, is
there anything that inherently eats away at the EWF space so that it
eventually fills up and causes the system to fail? I saw one message
suggesting moving the Windows event log files to a writeable drive
partition, but it seems like this could create problems of its own. This
system should be able to run for weeks at a time without rebooting. Anything
to watch out for?
