Hi,

if I have a C: drive HDD as unprotected
and
D: drive Compact Flash as protected using EWF without partitioning CF.

What happens if the HDD crashes, and hence PC boots from CF and presumably
sets this to C drive.

Will the CF volume still be protected ?

Cheers

Cato

Hi Cato,

It will stay D:.
About volume letters assignment read:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/community/tips/xp/rtpartin/default.aspx

But ARC path name might change. If boot.ini ARC path did not changed then
EWF will work correctly since EWF is making protection based or ARC path not
of volume letter.

Regards,
Slobodan
