Every time I try to open a text attachement, it opens in code rather than
English. What did I do? How do I fix it?
Thanks

That depends on why it is doing it.

How are you trying to open it? What program is being used to view it?
What is the extension of the attachment (DOC, ZIP, TXT, etc.)? Does this
happen to all attachments or just one?

So far it's "pdf" files. I just had Windos XP reinstalled. These are the
first files I've tried to open. So, I don't know if it's all types or not.
The computer is using Word to open the files. I chose (by accident?) Word to
open all of this type of file. Now I can't get back to a place where I can
choose something else.

Word will not open *.pdf files. Adobe Acrobat is what you want.

If you have Adobe Acrobat installed...

1. Right-click a file with the .pdf extension, and then click Open With.
2. In the Open With dialog box, click the program where you want the file to
open, or click Browse to locate the program that you want. Adobe Acrobat.
3. Select the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file
check box.

If you do not have Adobe Acrobat...

Download Adobe Reader

Woo Hoo! Thanks Wes. Adobe Acrobat is one of the many things I forgot to
re-install. Reading everything fine now.
