Greetings. I deleted the "everyone" user profile, mistakenly thinking it
had been created by a trojan. I haven't noticed any ill effects, can I
expect any? Thanks.

I don't have an "everyone" profile on any of the machines I work with or
own.

I think Mark is talking about the default user profile or the all users
profile. Default user is there to act as a local profile template for
when a new profile is created on the machine. You can change it and add
to it to customize the default template for profiles on that machine.
The all users profile holds stuff that apply to all profiles on the
machine. For example, if you want a shortcut to appear on the desktop
of every user profile of the machine, you put it in desktop under the
all users profile.

If Mark could clarify, it would be easier to help him.

How do you know it wasn't created by a trojan? If you have a profile called
"Everyone" there is something goofy going on unless you or someone else
logged in as Everyone.

Thanks Gaoler, you understood what I meant. I wasn't referring to a login
profile, but one of those that you reference in your reply. I should have
been more concise. A few things were checked, I don't remember what items
exactly. Sounds like I shouldn't be in any trouble for having deleted it.
Thanks for all the replies.
