Immediately after I downloaded the software required to
use the revised (major revisions) Microsoft Windows
Update Site my Event Viewer Application software event
log started to fill up with Esent Code 100,102,etc.
events. Apparently the data base engine was starting and
stopping frequently trying to do something about DLL's.
What is going on such that the downloaded software
mentioned above causes these events. What is the solution
to stop these events? I have come to hate the newly
revised Microsoft update site. They made something more
complex which was once straightforward.

This behavior can occur if the WINS database is damaged or is missing from
the "%SystemRoot%\system32\wins" folder.

ESENT is the service that manages the Jet database engine used by several
applications (WINS, DHCP, etc...).

The Windows Terminal Services License logging service. You can either
disable this service (unless of course, you use it to track WTS licenses on
your domain) or locate the database used by lserver and configure your
backup software not to perform backup of those files.
