This is the problem on 2 of my computers.
Windows saved your "Computer Name" registry while an application or service
was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the users
registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no
longer in use.
This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring
the services to run in either the Local Service or Network Service.

This is my question::: How do I find out which "service" in the "Services"
is causing this ?
I've clicked on the link to go to Help & Support, but it does not tell me
which particular service is causing this and I Do Not want to start changing
all of them, for fear of causing more errors in the Event Viewer.
I have changed some services in order to free up some items running at start
up, on these computers, because of very slow start ups. I have also followed
advice through my readings at the Elder Geek and Black Viper web sites. The
advice is great, but it does not say which " log on " is suppose to be used,
or the default, unless, I've missed something or I've probably messed up some
of these settings along the way. ( I'm great at messing things up ! I'm #1 in
my book...lol ) ;-)

An example of what I'm trying to resolve would be :::Log on as>>Local system
account or this account>>Nt Authority\Local System or should I set everything
to " Profile One and Local System Account.

Can someone please shed some advice on what the " Log On As " is normally
set to in the Services ?
Thank You Very Much In Advance
Mikki

Hi Wes,
Sorry for the late reply.
I downloaded the cleanup service that was suggested on the web site,
however, now I'm getting errors that I can't understand and when I click to
go to the web site for an explanation of the error, my event viewer shuts
down and asks to send an error report to microsoft.
Would these errors have anything to do with my network or my internet
connection being set up incorrectly ?
I believe my network is all set up wrong and also, I'm having issues with my
linksys router needing an update, but it seems everytime I accept a new
driver or update something, it messes up my computer.
I'm so confused about updating the computer because as the saying
goes...Don't fix it, unless it's broken OR as I hear many times...Accept
critical updates from microsoft and keep your computer, software, drivers
ect... updated. Everytime I do, my computer acts up. So, I think to just
leave the computer the way it is and forget about taking the updates. :-(
Very Confused
It also seems that since I accepted SP2, everything on my computer needed
updating or new drivers...my modem, my printer, then the router. Perhaps I
accepted SP2 too soon and should of studied up more on it, before downloading
it.
I thought last week, I was going to have to do a system recovery on the
computer because things got so messed up and then all of a sudden, I see new
network adapters with error signs in the device manager.
Can you give me any advice on deleting the network and starting all over
from scratch ? Or should I maybe delete SP2 and get my computer updated first
???
I will read up more on the UPH Upclean program to see if I can understand
the program and the errors I'm seeing.
Thank You For Your Advice
Mikki

Mikki,

If UPHClean seems to be causing more problems then it fixes, remove it.

The UPHClean v1.5e readme.txt explains some of the errors.

REMOVAL
=======

If you used automatic installation:
- Open Control Panel
- Open Add/Remove Programs
- Click on User Profile Hive Service and select Remove

If you manually installed:
- Run the program with the -remove switch to stop the service and remove it
(e.g. uphclean -remove)
- Remove the UPHClean directory under c:\program files
=======

I doubt very much that your network has anything to do with the Event
Viewer.

I know next to nothing about networks. No first hand experience.

The Network Setup Wizard is under All Programs\Accessories\Communications.

Here are some network topics. These articles are the very same as you'd
find in Help and Support on your machine.
