Event ID 51 when using External USB HardDrive

I am using USB 2.0 IDE HD using an ordinary notebook harddisk with 20GB of
size. I am frequentyly encounter "Windows-Delayed Write Failed" when I try
to copy multiple files to USB drive. Is there a way to avoid this problem?
