Event ID 26 hang at Welcome screen

Hello,

My WinXP SP1 notebook has established a habit of hanging
for approx. 5 minutes on the Welcome screen each time I
start the machine up. Otherwise system works fine. The
event log shows the following event at the hang point
each time. the next event always appears five minutes
later. Has anyone seen this specific error before?
None of the KB articles talk about this specific issue.
Any help would be appreciated. Thx, Mike
