I have just started getting event 1000 errors when I try to start Outlook
2003. This happening every time. I have searched the MS knowledge base and
found nothing to help.

Anyone any ideas please.

Thanks,

Steve

1000 is a generic error, what is the name associated with the error event?

Each entry in event viewer mentions niphk.dll - "Faulting application
outlook.exe, version 11.0.6353.0, stamp 408f2937, faulting module niphk.dll,
version 0.0.0.0, stamp 4125d5da, debug? 0, fault address 0x00004195" Address
differs with each attempt to start.

According to Google, niphk.dll is part of Norman Anti Virus which I have
installed. Curiously, the errors now appeared to have stopped, without any
apparent intervention from me, and Outlook is working properly.

Frustrating or what!!
