Even when I shutdown correctly...

I've had computers for 15 years now so believe me when I
say I know how to shut down Windows XP correctly.

However, when I go to turn my computer back on for the
day it says I didnt shutdown correctly and runs scan
disk. If I let the scan run, it goes on to the page where
you pick the user. That user begins to load and totally
freezes up every stinking time. So then I have to hold
the power button on the cpu until is shuts dead off and
reboot. I have to skip scan disk for it to not freeze.

In the last couple of days, I missed the chance to skip
the scan and watched as it went on and on about all the
messed up files.

To make matters worse, today I keep getting little pop-
ups from systems tray saying all these .dll files are
corrupt and it says to run dskchk.

Sorry for the novel I just wrote but I need help. Please!

And how in the heck do you run dskchk?

Sorry I can't be more help but go to the 'Help and
Support' thats on the start menu type, Recovery Console ,
in Search and you will find your dskchk along with others.

From All Programs/Accessories select Command Prompt. In the command
window, type: chkdsk[space]/f[enter]. Follow the rest of the prompts.
