(1) I receive an error message when trying to run a query and am forced
to shut the program down. (2) I receive an error message when trying to
export the table and am forced to shut the program down.

The database has over 6,000 records which we cannot lose. We have a
backup but that gets the following error: This database is in an
unexpected state; Microsfot Access can't open it. It thinks the
database was converted from an earlier version but it was not. It was
created using Access XP (2002).

What suggestions do you have for getting the table information into
another file?

Thanks for your help

MAKE A BACKUP... Now. You may need it.

If you don't have a working backup of this data, you may be out of
luck; some corruption cannot be repaired.

Try opening a new, empty database and using File... Get External
Data... Import to import this table.

For other suggestions (including database salvage services, which can
be very effective but also rather expensive) see

I appreciate your suggestions. I was able to salvage all of the data
except two records (the culprits) and set up a new table.
