Errors during boot process

I get and error message with the windows\system32\system
file during the boot process. I have tried the system
recovery console by running chkdsk /r command. It fixes
some stuff, but I still get the original error when I
reboot the boot process. Is there something else I can try
before I re-install Window XP? Trying not to lose data on
the hard drive. Thanks.

Hi Bob

Try here:

Will,

Don't know if you will see this or not. I followed the
instructions and got Win XP to boot as almost a new
install. When I followed the rest of the instructions I
get the blue screen with this error 0x0000007b
(0xFC938640, 0xC00000034,0x00000000,0x00000000. I tried
safe mode, last good config... I tried staring over again
to. I still get the blue screen of death and I was so
close too....
