Errorcode 0x80004005 + Sound recording

Viji

I am not able to recoed sound.
After usinf 'Test hardware...', I get the error
message "Windows cannot execute DevSetup.exe. Error code
0x8000405"
1.I have tried regular things like correct jack, mute etc.,
2.Acceleration etc.,
3.Microphone works in other machines

Any suggesetions, please

Are you using Sound Recorder with a microphone???
Are you asking about recording to your harddrive or a CD??
Are you using a special program provided by your Sound
Card Manufacturer such as Sound Blaster?
Check if your Mike is muted in "Open Volume Control" by
rightclicking the volume icon in bottom corner of monitor.
Also "Adjust Audio Properties" and Test Hardware.

solutoins that are available still get the same error im
using xp home edition and evertime i use test wizard
keeps gining me >>After usinf 'Test hardware...', I get
the errorhow to do thisand cant find it anywhere please can you
help
