i tried to conect my serial mouse when my USB logitec mouse was already attached. i just tried to see if my old mouse still worked. what happened was that my screen went blank and my PC restarted and after windows got started it blinked a message saying that a serious error has occured and asked me if i wanted to send the report to microsoft. since i was too panicked i didn't know how to respond. i thought that may be if i got connected to the net then some thing weird might again happen. i restarted the pc myself and now there wasn't any such message. is this a cause of concern for me?? what should i do know
please mail me what to do.

Hi,

Um, don't do that again? Sounds like it didn't respond well to the new
hardware being detected. Try plugging it in while the system is shut down,
then booting up. If it reoccurs, then you may have either a faulty mouse, or
a faulty ps/2 port.

The error reporting is just a service that provides MS with fault buckets
from crashes. The information gleaned is used to sort out and prioritize the
biggest problems, and to give them details on what is going wrong. If the
fault bucket has a known fix, you will get a popup telling you so along with
a link to it, otherwise the information you send is just added to the
database.
