error with command prompt

My PC seems to have big trouble with its command prompt
and the Ms-dos related programes. An error message always
pops-up:
"Application popup: cmd.exe - Application Error : The
application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142).
Click on OK to terminate the application. "

And the cmd.exe or the command prompt, as well as some
other programes could start. This gives me a lot of
trouble. I checked the supprot information by clicking
the links within the error log info, but it says that i
shall reinstall the driver/programe. I have no idea that
how to reinstall the command prompt. Could any one
outhere help me with this?

I have the same problem. Yesterday I was reinstal whole OS (Windows2
with SP4)... nothing changed. Did you solve the problem and how

I have a laptop, and had the same issue. Luckly, I found out cmd.exe ra
ok if I use docking station. So, I just delete my 'undocking' profile
and restart. Then, reset the display. Problem solved!!!

I fix the problem. Problem was 125% font size and Serbian(Cyrilic)
default language settings on 1280X1024 screen resolution. Very big
Windows bug.

VisualStudio reports exception C0000142 to be "DLL Initialization Failed".

Check the registry HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\windows
nt\currentversion\windows -- AppInit_DLLs might be injecting a .DLL that
fails, maybe just for console programs.
