error: windows cannot copy p3.sys during install

Hi
I keep getting the above error when i try to install
winxp professional e.g. windows cannot copy p3.sys please
can anyone help me i have retried it several times

How are you installing? Are you doing a clean install - formatting the
hard drive and then installing the operating system - or are you doing
an upgrade install "overtop" of an older os? If the latter, try doing a
clean install. Please understand that formatting your hard drive will
remove everything so have your data backed up before you start.
Otherwise, installation failures of MS operating systems usually are
because of faulty hardware. In that case, do a RAM test (I like
Memtest86) or a hard drive diagnostic.

I am having the same problem, I am trying a new drive to see if that is the problem or not, but I would sure like to see an answer somewhere.
